Independence Pet Holdings is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to lead pricing model development for P&C or pet insurance pricing. You will own projects end-to-end and work with actuarial, product, engineering, and business teams. You will mentor teammates, apply ML techniques, and communicate insights to senior leadership in a dynamic pricing-focused environment.

Remote within the U.S. with hubs in major cities.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Actuarial Science or related quantitative field.
• 2+ years in data science/analytics OR 4+ years progressive experience in analytics.
• Experience in pricing (P&C or pet insurance) pricing, rate modeling, GLMs or related work.
• Strong Python/SQL for data manipulation, modeling, and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead pricing model development and related regression approaches.
• Apply machine learning to improve predictive accuracy and insights.
• Own end-to-end projects from scoping to delivery across pricing and research.
