Cohere Health is seeking a Senior Manager, Data Platform Engineering to lead a high-impact team responsible for ingestion, transformation, and lakehouse architecture across complex data initiatives. You will partner with Product, Architecture, Client Delivery, and Operations to translate business needs into credible delivery plans and mentor engineers while driving operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data engineering, platform engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of people management or lead-level data engineers.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional engineering initiatives from planning through production.
• Strong depth in modern data platforms, including data ingestion, ETL/ELT, and cloud-based architectures.
• Experience with AWS, S3, Iceberg, Glue, Airflow, Spark/PySpark, Athena.
• Strong understanding of testing, observability, and production reliability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with senior leadership and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Data Platform engineering team with clear expectations and career growth.
• Own execution across complex data initiatives with credible delivery plans and defined milestones.
• Establish delivery discipline, ensure work is defined, estimated, and ready before commitment; mitigate blockers.
• Maintain technical depth while validating architecture and implementation approaches with Staff Engineers.
• Build cross-functional partnerships to align priorities and communicate status and decisions clearly.
• Drive operational excellence across production support, on-call readiness, data quality, observability, and reliability.
• Guide evolution of Cohere’s data platform including lakehouse, ingestion, and governance.
