Job summary

Cohere is seeking a Head of the Data Foundation to lead the analytics and data insights stack. You will own ingestion, orchestration, modeling, governance, and the analytics layer across the company, partnering with executives to scale data-driven decision making.

You will build and mentor a high-impact team, drive a system of records for trusted data, and automate data engineering workflows while maintaining strong security practices and governance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data engineering, data infrastructure, or analytics platform roles.
• Track record of leading data platform or infrastructure teams.
• Hands-on history in data engineering before management.
• Production experience with cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, or similar) and workflow orchestration (Airflow).
• Experience with data governance and security is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the data and infrastructure team.
• Set the Data Foundation roadmap aligned with company strategy.
• Own the data platform end to end: ingestion, orchestration, warehouse modeling, and analytics serving.
• Define data governance and access controls across environments.
• Oversee reliability: alerts, SLAs, incident response, and postmortems.
• Lead the agentic analytics program and eval harness.
• Set analytics standards and onboarding for new domains.
• Coordinate with product, Business Insights, Security, and Legal.
