Job summary

Beacon Biosignals is seeking a fully remote Senior Software Engineer to join the Datastore team. You will design and scale backend data infrastructure, including PostgreSQL data models, Kafka pipelines, and a GraphQL API that underpins our brain data platform.

You will own data and event processing services, deliver dataset snapshots to our warehouse, and collaborate with platform and application teams. Strong SQL, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, and IaC experience are essential; Julia or Python

Qualifications

5+ years of backend development experience.
At least 2 years building data platforms and backend infrastructure.
Strong SQL skills with PostgreSQL.
Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar.
Proficiency in Julia or Python.
Experience with Kubernetes and IaC tools (Terraform/Helm).
Collaborative with strong written and verbal communication.
Self-directed in hybrid/remote teams.

Responsibilities

Partner with product and stakeholders to translate requirements into integrations and services.
Design and scale backend components for data processing pipelines.
Own pipelines delivering dataset snapshots to the warehouse.
Draft RFCs and lead technical design discussions.
Ensure data correctness, idempotency, and resilience during partial failures.
Improve documentation, tools, and dashboards for operational robustness.
