Job summary

Beacon Biosignals is transforming precision brain health with at-home EEG and diagnostic platforms. We seek a backend engineer to design scalable data infrastructure using PostgreSQL, Kafka, and GraphQL, delivering robust data flows for clinical studies.

You will partner with product and scientific teams, draft RFCs, and ensure correctness as data moves between systems. This remote-friendly role values collaboration, strong SQL skills, and hands-on data platform experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience with at least 2 years on data platforms.
• Strong SQL skills and production experience with PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka or equivalent event streaming.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product managers and scientific stakeholders to translate requirements into new integrations and services.
• Draft RFCs to lead complex feature discovery and technical design phases.
• Hold a high bar for correctness when data moves between systems.
