Sedgwick is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to design and maintain scalable data pipelines across on‑premises and cloud sources, with a focus on Snowflake and dbt AI features.

You will mentor one data engineer, help mature engineering practices, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to accelerate data products and AI‑enabled analytics. This fully remote role offers growth and a caring culture.

Qualifications

• Five (5)+ years of dedicated data engineering experience building production-grade data pipelines.
• Advanced hands-on experience with Snowflake, performance tuning, and data sharing.
• Experience moving data across hybrid environments (on‑prem to cloud) using batch, streaming, and event-driven patterns.
• Experience building or maintaining semantic layers for AI, large language models, or NLP search.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines for batch, real‑time streaming, and event‑driven data movement.
• Core developer for the Snowflake data platform, supporting performance, data modeling, and storage structures.
• Architects and builds transformation pipelines delivering high‑quality data inputs to Snowflake and dbt AI features.
• Designs and maintains semantic layers and metadata models for Self‑Service 2.0 interfaces.
• Establishes reference architectures, reusable templates, and CI/CD practices for decentralized teams.
• Provides direct management and mentorship to one data engineer; guides analysts in engineering practices.
• Drives adoption of dbt and evaluates AWS/Azure data tools integration to optimize data flow.
