Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain large-scale data pipelines across on-premises and cloud environments. You will serve as a core developer for the Snowflake data platform and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize data movement and quality.

The role emphasizes transforming data for AI and natural-language interfaces, implementing CI/CD patterns, and mentoring a junior engineer.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data engineering, or a related field preferred.
Equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience will be considered.
Five+ years of data engineering experience, with production-grade pipelines.

Responsibilities

Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines for batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven data movement across on-prem and cloud.
Core developer for Snowflake data platform; supports performance, data modeling, and storage structures.
Architects transformation pipelines delivering high-quality inputs to Snowflake and dbt AI features.
Maintains semantic layers and metadata models to support Self-Service 2.0 interfaces.
Establishes reference architectures, reusable templates, and CI/CD practices for cross-team use.
Provides direct management and mentorship to one data engineer, with potential team growth.
Drives adoption of dbt and evaluates Azure/AWS tools to optimize data flow.
