Sedgwick is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Snowflake, dbt, and cloud services. You will mentor a data engineer and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable AI-ready data assets.

The role emphasizes modern data architectures, governance, and performance tuning, with opportunities to influence data strategy across hybrid/on-prem and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of dedicated data engineering experience building production-grade pipelines.
• Advanced hands-on Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, and data sharing.
• Experience moving data across hybrid environments (on‑prem to cloud).
• Experience with semantic layers for AI/LLM or natural-language search.
• Strong Python and SQL skills in cloud environments; familiarity with dbt.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines for batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven movement.
• Develops and supports the Snowflake data platform, data modeling, and storage structures.
• Architects and builds transformation pipelines delivering high-quality inputs to Snowflake and dbt AI features.
• Maintains semantic layers and metadata models to support Self-Service 2.0 interfaces.
• Establishes reference architectures, reusable templates, and CI/CD practices for safe data products.
• Provides mentorship to one data engineer and guides data analysts in engineering practices.
• Drives adoption of dbt and evaluates AWS/Azure data tools to optimize data flow.
