Greater Good Health is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Engineering team. You will own data ingestion pipelines, ensure data quality, and maintain platform reliability in a Snowflake-based environment.

This role focuses on moving data from health plans and partners, validating it at each stage, and delivering robust data streams to downstream teams. Strong Python/SQL skills and experience with cloud data warehouses are essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of engineering experience building and running production data pipelines in the cloud.
• Healthcare data experience preferred (claims, eligibility, or EHR).
• Strong object-oriented design, version control, automated tests, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Data ingestion: Build and run Python pipelines in the cloud to ingest data from health plans and partners into Snowflake.
• Data delivery: Move data to services with versioned contracts and manage schema changes.
• Source data quality: Implement testing, reconciliation, and freshness monitoring; quarantine bad files.
• Reliability: Build logging, metrics, and alerting; write runbooks; monitor and improve pipelines.
• Platform: AWS-based with serverless and container workloads; keep costs under control.
• Security: Enforce HIPAA/compliance controls, least-privilege access, data encryption.
• Collaboration: Work with partners, participate in code reviews, document patterns, and use AI responsibly.
• 7+ years of engineering experience in cloud data pipelines.
• Experience with healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR/HL7) is a plus.
