Job summary

Kraken is seeking a Sr. Data Analyst, Compliance for remote work. You will own end-to-end data management, build datasets, and design dashboards for the Compliance team.

Lead logic behind transaction monitoring for deposits and withdrawals and contribute to ML/AI groundwork with solid software engineering practices. You will translate compliance into production detection logic, create Python/SQL pipelines, and run reproducible evaluations on historical data while partnering with Compliance and

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data analysis, data science, or data management in fintech/crypto.
• Experience with compliance, fraud, and large datasets for decision-making.
• Strong Python/SQL and production data systems experience.
• dbt or similar data modeling tools used for reporting.
• CI/CD, testing, and software engineering practices familiar.

Responsibilities

• Own transaction monitoring rules and detection logic with Compliance.
• Translate compliance requirements into production detection logic.
• Develop Python and SQL pipelines for data preparation and features.
• Evaluate detection rules, alert quality, and threshold sensitivity.
• Design reproducible evaluations with limited labels and shifting behavior.
• Manage testing, deployment, monitoring, and data quality issues.
• Backfill history with validation and maintain downstream alert delivery.
• Experiment and translate insights into actionable improvements with best practices.
