Job summary

Kraken is seeking a Senior Data Analyst, Compliance to join our remote team. You will own end-to-end data management for the Compliance function, building datasets, pipelines, and dashboards to reveal trends and root causes.

You will translate requirements into production detection logic for transaction monitoring across deposits and withdrawals. You will develop Python and SQL pipelines, evaluate detection rules, and design robust evaluations accounting for limited labels and shifting customer

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data analysis within fintech/crypto or financial services.
• Experience with compliance, fraud, funding, finance, and customer support data.
• Strong Python and SQL; production data/analytic systems experience.
• Hands-on dbt for data modeling and reporting.
• Data pipelines, orchestration, and software engineering practices (CI/CD).
• Statistical foundations; ML exposure is a plus.
• BI tools like Tableau/Power BI for executive dashboards.
• English fluency; based in US, Canada, or Brazil.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end data management for Compliance data, pipelines, and dashboards.
• Translate compliance needs into production detection logic with correct thresholds and segmentation.
• Develop Python/SQL pipelines for data prep, feature engineering, and detection workflows.
• Evaluate detection rules, coverage, alert quality, and impact of changes.
• Design reproducible historical evaluations accounting for labels and class imbalance.
• Own testing, deployment, monitoring, and operations for detection workflows.
• Execute backfills with validation and ensure reliable downstream alert delivery.
• Lead data experimentation and apply software engineering best practices to pipelines.
