Job summary

Payward is seeking a Senior Data Analyst, Compliance to join our remote team. You will own end-to-end data management for compliance, translating regulatory requirements into production detection logic for deposits and withdrawals, and building robust pipelines in Python and SQL.

You will collaborate with Compliance to refine detection and evaluate models, while contributing to experimentation and scalable data tooling.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data analysis, data science, and data management within fintech/crypto or financial services.
• Experience collaborating with compliance, fraud, funding, finance, and customer support teams.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with production data systems experience.
• Hands-on experience with dbt or similar tooling.
• Experience building data pipelines with workflow orchestration and software engineering practices.
• Solid statistical foundation; ML exposure is a plus.
• Proficiency with BI tools to build exec dashboards.
• Fluent in English and able to communicate with non-technical stakeholders.
• Degree in analytics, software engineering, statistics, or economics.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end data management: datasets, pipelines, and dashboards for Compliance.
• Translate compliance requirements into production detection logic for alerts and thresholds.
• Develop Python/SQL pipelines for transaction data prep, feature engineering, and detection workflows.
• Evaluate detection rules, coverage, alert quality, and threshold sensitivity.
• Design reproducible historical evaluations with limited labels and shifting behavior.
• Support testing, deployment, monitoring, and incident response for detection workflows.
• Experiment and translate insights into actions using software engineering best practices.
