Job summary

Sompo is seeking an experienced Crop Insurance Senior Underwriter for a Southeast team role. The position supports remote work across multiple states and involves reviewing contracts, acreage and production reports, and agent inquiries to ensure policy accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities include obtaining policies, training agents, processing PASS data, and ensuring deadlines under RMA guidelines. A high school diploma is required, with preferred 5+ years in crop insurance and MPCI

Qualifications

• Experience in crop insurance is required.
• Preferred 5+ years related experience.
• Knowledge of MPCI program and underwriting rules.
• Ability to learn what information is needed to process policies and FCIC regulations.
• Ability to interpret policy information and actuarial documents.
• Basic keyboarding/ten-key skills for data entry.
• Ability to answer agents' questions clearly by phone.
• Train other Underwriting team members.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain policy from agents and verify acreage and production reports.
• Research agent questions and meet RMA deadlines.
• Teach agents to use the system and review renewals.
• Process policy acceptance in PASS; handle errors and support others.
• Process production and acreage reports and conduct policy reviews.
• Interpret FCIC policies and apply MPCI rules.
• Assist with RMA exceptions and maintain accurate records.
• Other duties as assigned.
