Job summary

Prosper is seeking a Senior Credit Risk Analyst to join our Credit Risk team. You will develop credit and fraud strategies using data and machine learning to optimize risk decisions across our online lending marketplace.

You will design experiments, perform ad‑hoc analyses, and partner with Data Science, Product, and Engineering to implement risk improvements. A strong analytical background and collaboration skills are essential in our fast-paced, mission‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or Economics.
• 2+ years of experience managing credit risk and/or fraud and/or data science in consumer lending industry; consumer personal loan / credit card experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Must have strong proficiency in SQL and Python; Experience with DBT and Looker will be a plus.
• Strong communication skills – ability to present technical topics clearly to team and senior management.
• Knowledge and experience of segmentation, statistical procedures, and financial analytic tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop credit and fraud strategies using data, ML models and analytics to optimize risk decisions.
• Design A/B tests and evaluate risk and customer experience trade-offs.
• Collaborate with Data Science, Product, Engineering and other teams to implement credit and fraud strategies.
• Conduct ad-hoc analysis related to risk, product, and operations.
• Analyze portfolio performance and identify key drivers; communicate findings to Risk Management.
