Job summary

Prosper Marketplace is seeking a Senior Credit Risk Analyst to join our Credit Risk team in the United States. You will leverage data, models, and analytics to shape credit and fraud decisions in our online marketplace.

You will collaborate with Data Science, Product, and Engineering to test strategies, analyze portfolio performance, and drive improvements in risk management while communicating findings to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or Economics.
• 3+ years with a Master’s or 5+ years with a Bachelor’s managing credit risk and/or fraud and/or data science in consumer lending industry.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Must have strong proficiency in SQL and Python; Experience with DBT and Looker will be a plus.
• Strong communication skills – ability to communicate technical subject matter clearly to stakeholders.
• Knowledge of segmentation, statistical procedures, and financial analytic tools.
• Curious, proactive, and able to work in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop credit and fraud strategies using data, ML models and analytics to optimize risk decisions.
• Bring innovative thinking to make recommendations and solve problems.
• Design A/B tests and assess risk and customer experience trade-offs.
• Continue to innovate by testing new data, analytics approaches and models.
• Partner with Data Science, Product, Engineering and other teams to implement risk strategies and validate performance.
• Conduct ad-hoc analysis related to risk management, product, and operations.
• Analyze portfolio performance at granular segment levels and identify trends.
