Job summary

Prosper Marketplace is seeking a Senior Credit Risk Analyst to design and optimize credit and fraud strategies using data and models in Prosper’s US marketplace. You will collaborate with Data Science, Product, and Engineering to implement risk solutions and run experiments.

We value strong SQL and Python skills, plus experience with segmentation and financial analytics. A Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years in credit risk or data science are required; finance experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or Economics.
• 2+ years of experience managing credit risk and/or fraud and/or data science in consumer lending.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Must have strong proficiency in SQL and Python; experience with DBT and Looker is a plus.
• Strong communication skills – ability to communicate technical subject matter clearly to team and senior management.
• Knowledge and experience of segmentation, statistical procedures, and financial analytic tools are required.
• Curious to ask questions and challenge the status quo.
• Strong ownership and motivation to drive business results.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality.

Responsibilities

• Develop credit and fraud strategies to improve credit performance using data, machine learning models and analytics tools.
• Design A/B tests and understand risk vs. customer experience trade‑offs.
• Partner with Data Science, Product, Engineering and other teams to implement credit and fraud prevention strategies and test performance.
• Conduct ad‑hoc risk analyses related to product and operations.
• Analyze portfolio performance at a granular segment level and identify trends.
