Job summary

CSAA Insurance Group (CSAA IG) seeks a Sr. Counsel, Commercial Transactions to manage complex insurance distribution and commercial contracting from a remote location in the United States.

The role focuses on structuring, drafting, and negotiating sophisticated arrangements, including agency relationships, reinsurance, and multi‑party programs. The Senior Counsel will collaborate with business partners, translate new models into clear risk allocations, and contribute to process improvements

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and bar admission in good standing in the state of residency.
• 10+ years of experience in a relevant practice area.
• Substantial knowledge of current law and issues within area of specialty.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in an organized, effective, and timely manner.
• Ability to work in an organized and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structuring, drafting, and negotiation of complex insurance distribution arrangements, including agency and aggregator relationships.
• Advise on reinsurance transactions, including inbound, outbound, catastrophe, and opportunistic reinsurance.
• Structure complex, multi‑party insurance programs and commercial transactions, including fleets, fronting arrangements, deductible structures, collateral arrangements, and related service agreements.
• Coordinate suites of interrelated agreements and translate novel business models into workable legal structures.
• Partner across the organization on strategic initiatives and contribute to other areas handled by the team, including general commercial contracts, IP, and marketing.
