Job summary

CSAA Insurance Group is seeking a Sr. Counsel, Commercial Transactions to lead complex insurance distribution arrangements, reinsurance, and multi-party programs.

This remote role partners with business teams to structure transactions, draft contracts, and manage risk across the enterprise. You will guide senior stakeholders, translate evolving business models into clear legal structures, and contribute to process improvements while leveraging AI-enabled tools.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and bar admission in good standing in the state of residency.
• 10+ years of experience in a relevant practice area.
• Substantial knowledge of current law and issues within area of specialty.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in an organized, effective, and timely manner.
• Ability to work in an organized and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structuring, drafting, and negotiation of complex insurance distribution arrangements, including agency and aggregator relationships.
• Advise on reinsurance transactions, including inbound, outbound, catastrophe, and opportunistic reinsurance.
• Structure complex, multi-party insurance programs and commercial transactions and related agreements.
• Coordinate suites of interrelated agreements and translate novel business models into workable legal structures.
• Partner across the organization on strategic initiatives and other commercial contract work.
• Participate in process-improvement initiatives within the Legal department.
