Job summary

ABB Inc. is seeking a senior in-house counsel to provide strategic legal advice and uphold compliance across the organization.

You will handle end-to-end EPC contracts, collaborate with commercial, sales, finance, HR, and EHS, and manage risks across competition, data privacy, and product liability in partnership with global teams. The role requires a US-licensed JD with 10+ PQE, strong negotiation and regulatory expertise, and an ability to influence stakeholders in a multinational setting.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate with active bar admission and 10+ years PQE handling international legal, commercial, and regulatory matters.
• Expertise in contract law and negotiation for EPC/project contracts, distribution agreements, government contracting, IP and digital law (SaaS, cybersecurity, data privacy).
• Strong organizational/analytical skills to manage multiple priorities and deliver practical solutions under pressure.
• Proactive, adaptable, collaborative, and capable of influencing stakeholders across cross-country, multicultural settings.
• Excellent communication and ability to work independently while contributing to strategic initiatives and compliance frameworks.
• Generalist capable of juggling multiple EPC-related priorities across BA/Division/Support roles.
• Candidates must already have work authorization to work in the US for ABB.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end legal support for project business activities, including EPC contracts from tender to closure.
• Advise and collaborate with internal stakeholders (commercial, sales, finance, HR, EHS, supply chain) to ensure compliance and protect company interests.
• Manage legal risk across competition law, data privacy (GDPR), product liability, employment, investigations, and litigation support with global teams.
• Contribute to integrity initiatives and participate in regional/global Legal & Integrity teams.
