Job summary

YAZIO, a fast-growing nutrition app company, is seeking a Senior Controller who will own the full controlling function, shaping monthly closes, accounting operations and internal controls as we scale.

This 100% remote role is open to candidates in Germany, Spain, Portugal or the UK, with collaboration across FP&A, Legal and external partners to ensure accurate financial reporting and robust control environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in accounting, controlling or financial reporting.
• Experience leading or coordinating a small accounting team.
• Strong knowledge of German HGB; IFRS exposure is a plus.
• Proven ownership of the monthly close cycle.
• Advanced DATEV skills and familiarity with accounting systems.
• Ability to design and implement internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close from end-to-end with timely reporting.
• Review accruals, cut-off entries, reconciliations and reporting packs.
• Be the in-house authority on technical accounting topics.
• Coordinate external partners such as auditors and tax advisors.
• Strengthen internal controls and drive process improvements.
• Leverage AI tools to support analysis and audit prep while ensuring accountability.
