Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Compliance Officer to join a remote-first team. This role focuses on developing and overseeing compliance programs that align with South African financial regulations, including FAIS, FICA, POPIA, and the Companies Act.

You will lead risk assessments, drive policy improvements, and provide expert guidance to the business. You will partner with regulatory bodies and auditors, delivering training and maintaining dashboards to monitor compliance, while working

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Postgraduate qualification in compliance is advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in compliance, risk management or legal roles in financial services.
• In-depth knowledge of South African financial regulations (FAIS, FICA, POPIA, Companies Act).
• Proven experience in developing and implementing compliance frameworks and policies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to influence stakeholders.
• Proficiency in compliance management software and MS Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fully remote environment.
• High level of integrity and professionalism.
