Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Insurance Compliance Officer for our client, a growing insurance brokerage, to develop and monitor compliance programs focused on FAIS, FICA, POPIA. Hybrid work in East London, Eastern Cape, with an emphasis on regulatory adherence and risk management.

You will lead audits, advise management, maintain records, and liaise with regulators to ensure ethical operation and governance within the business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Commerce, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years in compliance, legal, or risk management roles, preferably in insurance/financial services.
• Strong knowledge of FAIS, FICA, POPIA and related regulations.
• Experience with internal audits and risk assessments.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with compliance software is a plus.
• Ability to work in a Hybrid model.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the company's compliance program aligned with regulatory requirements.
• Monitor regulatory changes and provide timely updates and recommendations.
• Conduct internal audits and reviews to ensure policy adherence.
• Investigate potential breaches and report findings to senior management.
• Deliver compliance training for staff at all levels.
• Advise management on compliance-related matters and best practices.
• Maintain compliance records and documentation.
• Liaise with regulators and external auditors as required.
• Assist in updating internal policies to reflect regulatory changes.
