Placements24 is seeking a Senior Transport Compliance Officer to join our remote, national SA team. You will oversee compliance across transport operations, conduct audits, and advise operational staff on road traffic regulations and safety standards.

This role emphasizes independent work from a remote setting, with a focus on upholding stringent regulatory adherence and driving continuous improvements in compliance practices.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in transport compliance or related regulatory field.
• Deep knowledge of SA transport law incl. National Road Traffic Act.
• Experience in audits and investigations; strong reporting skills.
• Ability to work remotely and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance of transport operations with national and provincial road legislation, safety, and environmental standards.
• Develop, implement, and maintain transport compliance policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular internal audits of fleet operations, driver records, vehicle maintenance, and licensing.
• Investigate incidents and breaches, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide expert guidance and training to staff on transport regulations and best practices.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and licensing departments as required.
• Monitor legislative changes and update policies accordingly.
• Maintain all compliance documentation accurately and accessibly.
• Develop risk mitigation strategies related to transport compliance.
• Promote a strong safety and compliance culture across the organization.
