Job summary

Placements24 represents a rapidly expanding international fintech company seeking a Senior Accountant for a fully remote role within South Africa. You will oversee all accounting operations from a home office, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Professional qualification (CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA) is highly desirable.
• Minimum 5 years accounting experience, multinational/tech focus preferred.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and ERP/financial reporting experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under IFRS.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate journal entries.
• Reconcile bank statements and intercompany accounts.
• Assist with tax returns and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Support internal and external audits with documentation and explanations.
• Develop accounting policies and improve internal controls.
• Analyze financial data to support business decisions.
• Oversee fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules.
• Stay updated on accounting standards and regulations.
