Job summary

Verisys is seeking a hands-on Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with deep AWS expertise to design, secure, and scale our healthcare credentialing platform. The role covers Linux specialization, on-prem Nutanix, container platforms, and SMTP/SSL/TLS management in a remote setting.

You will move between cloud engineering, systems administration, and security/compliance tasks, requiring adaptability and ownership. The team is small, and priorities shift with business needs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, SRE, and/or systems administration.
• 3+ years supporting production workloads in AWS.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate secure, highly available AWS infrastructure (EC2, VPC, IAM, ECS, S3, RDS, Route 53, CloudWatch, Systems Manager).
• Manage infrastructure as code (CloudFormation) and support CI/CD pipelines for container builds and deployments.
• Run containerized workloads on Amazon ECS and ECS Anywhere, administer Rancher native Cattle clusters.
• Provision and harden Linux systems; manage Windows Server, AD, DNS/DHCP, IIS.
• Administer on-prem Nutanix Prism Element/Central; manage AHV VM lifecycle, capacity, upgrades, data protection.
• Automate configuration and patching with Python, PowerShell, Bash, and AWS Systems Manager.
• Own SMTP relay infrastructure (Postfix/Amazon SES); manage TLS, SPF, DKIM, DMARC; troubleshoot deliverability.
