Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Senior Claims Representative in Baton Rouge to handle mid-to-high exposure bodily injury and property damage claims under Ryder's self-administered liability program.

You will investigate, adjust, and direct defense counsel, adjusters, experts, and other vendors while interacting with field management, legal counsel, customers, and insurance carriers. Strong negotiation and claim technical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
• Five (5) years or more experience in Casualty Claims required.
• Adjuster License(s) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Investigates and adjusts claims, and directs outside defense counsel, adjusters, experts, and vendors in the claim-handling processes.
• Supervises outside vendors for investigations, cost containment, expert witnesses, and litigation management.
• Alerts the Claims Manager to changes in laws affecting Ryder's Liability program.
• Identifies exposures and recommends solutions.
• Interacts with field operations, legal counsel, safety managers, customers, carriers, and claimants.
