Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Richmond, VA is seeking a Senior Claims Representative to handle complex and mid-to-high exposure bodily injury and property damage claims under Ryder's self-administered liability program. This role investigates and adjusts claims, directing defense counsel and external vendors while coordinating with field operations and carriers.

You will supervise outside investigators and experts, stay abreast of laws, and help set appropriate reserves to reflect probable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
• Five (5) years or more experience in Casualty Claims required.
• Adjuster License(s) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Investigates and adjusts claims, directing defense counsel and external vendors.
• Supervises outside vendors to ensure claims are handled per jurisdiction.
• Alerts Claims Manager to changes in laws affecting the liability program.
• Identifies exposures and recommends solutions.
• Interacts with field operations, legal counsel, customers, carriers, and claimants.
• Routinely reports on claims status and reserves.
• Communicates with insurance carriers and reinsurers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
