Job summary

Ensono seeks a skilled Mainframe Systems Programmer to provide premium support for CICS TS and WAS on the z/OS platform. You will install, test, and maintain system software, monitor performance, and coordinate migrations for new customers.

The role requires strong analytical and communication skills, independence, and the ability to work across time zones in a remote-friendly environment. Ideal candidates have 5+ years on the zSeries mainframe with hands-on experience, plus a Bachelor’s degree

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years experience on the zSeries (mainframe) platform including hands-on installation and maintenance of products related to CICS TS / WAS and OEM product support.
• Thorough working knowledge of CICS TS capabilities and installation/tailoring of CICS TS and related OEM products.
• Strong knowledge of IBM SMP/E and its use.
• Strong analytical skills and understanding of CICS TS concepts, configuration and tailoring.
• Knowledge of tools to monitor performance of CICS TS regions.
• Self-motivated; able to work independently and multi-task under deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; team and solo work capability.

Responsibilities

• Provide premium software support and services to Ensono mainframe clients as they relate to CICS and WAS.
• Install, test, and implement new operating systems and other system software.
• Maintenance and debugging of systems software; monitor and tune performance.
• Coordinate and support migration for new customers with CICS TS and OEM products.
• Assist project manager with migrations to ensure timely progress.
• Support disaster recovery plans in cooperation with DR Services.
• Follow ITSM change control procedures and implement vendor fixes.
• Upgrade, maintain, and enhance z/OS products as needed.
