Summit Insurance Group, Inc. is seeking a field-based business development professional in the Charlotte, NC or Greensboro, NC area. You will develop strategic marketing plans, identify profitable opportunities, and build strong agency relationships to grow revenue.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in strategic development or marketing, plus relevant insurance certifications and a proactive, data-driven mindset. This role requires significant travel (60–80%) to visit agents and brokers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in strategic business development, marketing, or a related role.
• Certifications including AU, CPCU, CIC, INS or ARM as listed.
• Willingness to travel 60%–80% for agent/broker visits.

Responsibilities

• Develops strategic marketing plans, considering agency strengths, competitors, and market conditions.
• Identifies and secures profitable new business opportunities in target markets and develops and implements strategic plans.
• Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with key agencies by providing tailored insurance solutions and educating agencies on product features.
• Drives revenue growth by achieving or exceeding sales targets; may develop cross-selling and up-selling strategies.
• Performs market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats.
