Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a talented Senior Business Analyst to support Veterans Affairs with end-to-end requirements. This is a 100% U.S.-based remote role with a focus on agile delivery and SAFe practices.

Ideal candidates bring extensive experience in federal environments, strong communication skills, and a proven track record in requirements elicitation, backlog management, and stakeholder collaboration. Security clearance eligibility (Public Trust) is required.

Qualifications

• Experience capturing software requirements and translating them into functional specs.
• Strong written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Deep understanding of Agile/ SAFe methodologies and product development lifecycles.
• Proven ability to manage requirements across multiple projects and teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the capture of business requirements for software development teams.
• Collaborate with business users, IT, and leadership to elaborate and document requirements in an ALM tool.
• Manage requirements in an ALM tool.
• Perform Agile requirement management activities for a product team.
• Analyze user needs to determine functional, cross-functional, and technical requirements.
• Conduct user interviews, lead sessions, and develop process models and specs.
• Gather and document business, functional, technical, and non-technical requirements from stakeholders.
• Elaborate user stories and decompose into backlog items with acceptance criteria.
• Use Jira for requirements management, testing, and defect tracking.
• Collect, track, and monitor system and business requirements.
• Validate requirements and integration across systems.
• Conduct backlog refinement sessions.
• Coordinate with Systems Engineers on technical impact.
• Manage and coordinate requirements for multiple projects.
• Prepare client-ready project documents.
• Identify risks and issues affecting timelines and outcomes.
• Maintain and prioritize the project backlog and change control.
