Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is actively seeking a Senior Business Analyst to lead the capture and documentation of software requirements for a Veterans Affairs program. This remote, full-time role requires SAFe experience and strong collaboration with IT, business users, and leadership.

You will manage requirements, write user stories with acceptance criteria, and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver value.

Qualifications

• Strong background in software development and SAFe methodologies.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics to diverse audiences.
• Excellent attention to detail, customer service, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience conducting independent research to support resolution of complex questions.
• Advanced experience with MS Office, including Excel.
• Excellent analytical skills, including integrating information from several sources.
• Expertise with JIRA tools.
• Experience in large, Agile software development or data integration projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the capture of business requirements for software development teams.
• Collaborate with users, IT, and leadership to elaborate and document requirements in an ALM tool.
• Manage requirements in an ALM tool.
• Perform Agile requirement management activities for a product team.
• Analyze user needs to determine functional, cross-functional, and technical requirements.
• Conduct user interviews and develop business process models and specifications.
• Gather and document requirements from stakeholders and contractors.
• Develop and refine user stories and backlog items with acceptance criteria.
• Use JIRA for requirements management, testing, and defect management to create epics and stories.
• Monitor system and business requirements and ensure traceability.
