Job summary

Utorg is seeking a Tech Lead / Senior Backend Engineer to own backend architecture across two large microservice platforms and drive complex integrations with payment providers and blockchain networks.

You’ll shape technical direction, work on AI-powered processes, and contribute to back-office dashboards while ensuring reliability, performance, and scalable systems in a fully remote team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production backend experience with TypeScript/Node.js as the primary stack.
• 2+ years with NestJS in production — modules, providers, middleware, guards, interceptors, microservice architecture.
• Production blockchain experience across networks with on-chain transactions and handling real user funds (HD wallets, smart contracts, tokens).
• Experience with AI-driven development and using AI/LLMs to optimize workflows.
• Deep PostgreSQL expertise including schema design, indexing, migrations with zero downtime.
• Hands-on microservices experience with inter-service communication, message brokers, idempotency, and saga/outbox patterns.
• Strong testing discipline: Jest, integration tests with real databases.
• Security-conscious practices in fintech/crypto environments.
• English proficiency at Upper-Intermediate; fluent in Russian.

Responsibilities

• Own backend architecture across two large-scale microservice platforms (30+ and 25+ services).
• Lead complex integrations with payment providers, card issuers, and blockchain networks; ensure reliability in production.
• Drive performance and scalability through caching strategies and query optimization.
• Shape technical direction and architectural decisions; partially offload the Tech Lead.
• Build and improve AI-powered processes and automation.
• Contribute to back-office UIs via React-based dashboards.
• Own features end-to-end from design to monitoring and improvement.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, and cross-functional teams; produce documentation and participate in code reviews.
• Participate in a shared on-call rotation (about one week per month).
