Job summary

Pearson is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to own and evolve scalable backend and full-stack systems in a cloud-native, AWS-driven environment. You will guide architecture, design, and production support across distributed teams, delivering reliable, high-performance services.

You will work on modernizing existing platforms while delivering new features, improving observability, security, and operational readiness in a globally distributed setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (master's a plus).
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience leading senior engineering teams on complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, scalability, and resiliency.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and production support of complex systems.
• Build backend services, microservices, and event-driven solutions on AWS.
• Drive modernization, reliability, and performance improvements.
• Mentor engineers and define coding standards and runbooks.
