Job summary

WEX, Inc. is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join the Mobility Mobile Engineering team.

You will build new applications that consolidate and modernize fleet management tools for drivers and fleet managers, working with a balanced team of Android and iOS engineers to deliver scalable mobile experiences for 250k+ users. You will drive Kotlin-first development, champion UI/UX excellence, monitor production app health, and mentor peers through code reviews and design discussions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Proficiency in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Gradle, and DI.
• Strong understanding of Android architecture patterns and modularization.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and real-time communication patterns.
• Proficiency in unit, integration, and UI testing, and advanced debugging.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and managing Play Store releases.
• Operate with ownership and effective stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Drive technical direction and influence the design, development, testing, and release of mobile applications using modern Kotlin-first approaches
• Champion UI/UX excellence by collaborating with product and design to deliver polished user experiences
• Monitor and improve production app health through crash analytics, performance metrics, and usage insights
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing sessions, knowledge sharing, and collaborative design discussions
