Job summary

Kake is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join a remote-first tech team building scalable mobile solutions. You will own features end-to-end, architect and maintain Kotlin Android apps, and deliver polished UIs with Jetpack Compose while collaborating across disciplines.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in native Android, strong Kotlin and modern architecture expertise, and experience with CI/CD and AI-assisted development tools. This role is remote with CST overlap in the US and paid in USD.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience in production Android apps.
• Experience shipping 0→1 greenfield Android products.
• Proficient with Kotlin, coroutines, and reactive state management.
• Deep knowledge of Android architectures (MVVM/MVI) and Jetpack components.
• Pixel-perfect UI with Jetpack Compose and Material Design.
• Experience with testing (JUnit, Espresso/Compose Test) and clean code.
• Familiar with mobile CI/CD pipelines and app deployment processes.
• AI-assisted development tools for delivery acceleration.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Translate requirements into actionable tasks and own feature delivery end-to-end.
• Architect, build, and maintain native Android apps in Kotlin.
• Design robust network layers and offline-first workflows.
• Integrate third-party SDKs and REST/GraphQL APIs with backend teams.
• Build modern UI with Jetpack Compose, ensuring high performance.
• Participate in design reviews and set engineering/testing standards.
