Job summary

Zillow Group is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to design, build, and operate production-grade agentic AI systems for mortgage Fulfillment. You will own end-to-end architecture across agent design, evals infra, and core agent infrastructure from design to deployment.

The role emphasizes reliability, observability, and scalable integrations with Encompass/DocuTech. You will collaborate with admins, Fulfillment ops, and Platform engineers while promoting best practices and mentoring

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Own AI/ML system in production end to end with accountability for correctness, cost, and reliability.
• Experience with eval pipelines and multi-step AI workflows.
• Strong infrastructure instincts and AI fluency.

Responsibilities

• Design and build multi-step AI agents coordinating mortgage Fulfillment workflows.
• Build evaluation frameworks measuring agent reliability and task completion.
• Architect and operate core agent infrastructure including model serving, prompt pipelines, batching, queueing, and observability.
• Build robust integrations with Encompass and DocuTech within their extension points.
• Collaborate with Encompass admins, Fulfillment operations, and Platform engineers to refine requirements and deliver iteratively.
• Set and advocate for engineering best practices in testing, measurement, observability, and incident response, mentoring engineers.
