Job summary

ServiceNow is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Agent Development to design and build scalable AI-powered software. You will own features from design through delivery, collaborate with product managers, and create intuitive user experiences with modern UI frameworks.

You will mentor peers and promote high-quality engineering practices across fast-moving AI products. Experience in agentic systems, frontier AI SDKs, and AI observability will be highly valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering with strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on depth designing and operating agentic systems in production; multi-agent orchestration and tool calling.
• Proficiency in production-grade Python; familiarity with Go/Java/C++ is a plus.
• Experience with frontier AI SDKs, prompt engineering, and model evaluation in production.
• Knowledge of RAG, retrieval patterns, vector stores, and hybrid search.
• Technical leadership: architecture ownership, code quality, mentoring in AI practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, maintainable software components with emphasis on performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with product managers to translate requirements into well-architected solutions.
• Build intuitive UIs using modern frameworks with flexibility for customer-specific needs.
• Contribute to new products and features while enhancing existing capabilities.
• Integrate automated testing into development workflows for quality across releases.
• Participate in design and code reviews to uphold performance and testability.
• Develop comprehensive test strategies covering functional, regression, and performance aspects.
• Mentor engineers on AI-powered software practices and engineering craftsmanship.
