Job summary

Cherry Bekaert LLP is seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Consultant for a remote engagement with a private equity-backed organization. You will own key accounting processes and support timely financial reporting.

This contract role pays $50–$100 per hour, depending on experience, and involves close collaboration with the finance team, system integrations, and process improvements while maintaining strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Progressive accounting experience in a corporate setting.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with month-end close, GL, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Experience supporting audits and internal controls.
• Proficiency in Excel and ERP/accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules.
• Assist with the preparation and analysis of financial statements and management reporting.
• Research and resolve complex accounting and general ledger matters.
• Support external audit requests and preparation of audit schedules.
• Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and close efficiency.
• Partner with finance leadership on accounting initiatives and special projects.
• Support system implementations, integrations, accounting cleanup, and process improvement initiatives as needed
