Cherry Bekaert Recruiting & Staffing is seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Consultant to support a corporate, private equity-backed organization in a remote consulting capacity. The role requires hands-on accounting expertise to integrate with an established finance team, own key accounting functions, and drive accurate, timely financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Progressive accounting experience within a corporate environment.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• CPA and/or public accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with ERP implementations, M&A integration, or finance transformation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules.
• Assist with the preparation and analysis of financial statements and management reporting.
• Research and resolve complex accounting and general ledger matters.
• Support external audit requests and preparation of audit schedules.
• Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and close efficiency.
• Partner with finance leadership on accounting initiatives and special projects.
• Support system implementations, integrations, accounting cleanup, and process improvement initiatives as needed.
