Job summary

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting & Staffing is seeking a Senior Accounting Consultant to support a corporate, private equity-backed organization. This remote contract role involves owning key accounting functions and driving accurate, timely financial reporting while integrating into an established finance team.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in U.S. GAAP, month-end close, and ERP systems, with CPA/public accounting exposure preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Progressive accounting experience within a corporate environment.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
Experience with month-end close, GL, journal entries, and reconciliations.
Experience supporting audits and maintaining internal controls.
Strong Excel and ERP/accounting system skills.

Responsibilities

Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and schedules.
Assist with analysis of financial statements and management reporting.
Research and resolve complex accounting and GL matters.
Support external audit requests and audit schedules.
Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and close efficiency.
Partner with finance leadership on accounting initiatives and projects.
Support system implementations, integrations, and accounting cleanup.
