Job summary

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting & Staffing is seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Consultant to support a corporate, private equity-backed organization. This remote consulting opportunity is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who can quickly integrate into an established finance team, take ownership of key accounting functions, and help drive accurate, timely financial reporting.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Progressive accounting experience in a corporate environment.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
Experience with month-end close, GL accounting, journal entries, and reconciliations.
CPA and/or public accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules.
Assist with the preparation and analysis of financial statements and management reporting.
Research and resolve complex accounting and general ledger matters.
Support external audit requests and preparation of audit schedules.
Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and close efficiency.
Partner with finance leadership on accounting initiatives and special projects.
Support system implementations, integrations, accounting cleanup, and process improvement initiatives as needed.
