Job summary

BELAY is seeking a Senior Accountant to bridge day-to-day accounting with technical expertise for a portfolio of clients. You will lead complex close processes, provide guidance to staff, and ensure high-quality financial reporting.

This remote role emphasizes collaboration with Managers and Controllers to deliver consistent service. Ideal candidates have 4–8 years of accounting experience, proficiency in QuickBooks Online, and strong communication for client relations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4-8 years accounting experience in client-service or outsourced environments.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and related applications (BiLL, Gusto, Shopify, Amazon, Fathom, Cin7).
• Excellent communication skills and client service orientation.
• Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines remotely.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and month-end close processes.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary accounting escalation point for day-to-day client questions and complex transactions.
• Deliver accurate, timely financial reporting and communicate results to clients.
• Review work of Staff Accountants and Bookkeepers for accuracy and adherence to processes.
• Maintain client accounting records and perform month-end close activities.
• Collaborate with Accounting Managers and Controllers to ensure client satisfaction.
