Placements24 seeks a strategic Financial Controller to lead a fully remote finance function for a multinational client. You will oversee reporting, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, and treasury while guiding senior leadership with actionable insights.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years in accounting/finance, IFRS mastery, ERP and Excel-based modeling, and proven remote team leadership in a multinational setting. This is a remote-first, executive-level role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CA(SA) or equivalent professional qualification is mandatory.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles, with at least 3 years in a controller or senior management position.
• Extensive knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, internal controls, and corporate governance.
• ERP systems experience and advanced financial modeling using Excel.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
• Experience managing remote teams and working in multinational environments.
• Eligible to work remotely within the United States.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting department including financial reporting, general ledger, payables/receivables, and payroll.
• Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and other standards.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and data integrity.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Manage cash flow, treasury, and banking relationships.
• Oversee the audit process and liaise with external auditors.
• Provide strategic financial insights to support executive decisions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and tax requirements.
• Mentor and develop remote finance and accounting team.
• Drive process improvements and best practices in financial operations.
