Job summary

BenchPrep is seeking a Staff/Senior Accountant for a remote role reporting to the Controller. You will manage reconciliations, journal entries, AR/AP, and billing while ensuring GAAP compliance and accurate financial reporting.

The ideal candidate has a BA in accounting, 3–5 years in accounting (or 5–8 for Sr), and proficiency with NetSuite/Intacct/QuickBooks. Expect collaboration across teams and a focus on process improvements.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA preferred.
• 3–5 years (Staff Accountant) or 5–8 years (Sr Accountant) in accounting or auditing; public accounting is a plus.
• Solid knowledge of financial statement preparation and revenue recognition.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting functions including reconciliations, journal entries, AR, AP and billing.
• Analyze expenses and allocate costs to departments with reporting to those teams.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and proper journal entries across periods.
• Review revenue recognition policies and related billing transactions.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly/yearly journal postings and accruals.
• Assist in financial statements, budgets, and variance analysis.
• Support year-end tax schedules and process improvements.
