Job summary

BenchPrep is seeking a Staff/Senior Accountant to support its growing operations from a remote location. You will maintain accurate financial records, prepare reports, analyze data, ensure GAAP compliance, and contribute to budgeting and audits, reporting to the Controller.

The role requires 3–5 years for Staff Accountant or 5–8 for Sr Accountant, CPA preferred, strong Excel and ERP experience (NetSuite/Intacct/QuickBooks).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA preferred.
• 3–5 years (Staff Accountant) or 5–8 years (Sr Accountant) in accounting or auditing; public accounting experience preferred.
• Team player with a positive attitude towards contributing and learning.
• Thorough knowledge and experience in financial statement preparation, GAAP, and revenue recognition.
• Strong verbal/written communication skills.
• Attention to detail and analytical problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; multitask regularly.
• Self-starter with quick learning ability and ownership mindset.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and deadline-driven.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting function including reconciliations, journal entries, AR, AP, and billing.
• Analyze expenditures and allocate expenses to departments; report to departments.
• Ensure transactions align with GAAP and company policies.
• Review revenue recognition and billing transactions for proper allocation.
• Post monthly, quarterly, and yearly accruals in the general ledger.
• Assist in building financial statements and budget variance analysis.
• Support design and preparation of annual budgets for management review.
• Prepare year-end schedules for tax returns.
