Job summary

BenchPrep is hiring a Staff/Senior Accountant to support the accounting function remotely in the United States. You will manage reconciliations, JEs, AR/AP, and billing, while ensuring GAAP compliance and accurate revenue recognition across departments.

The role emphasizes financial statement prep, budgeting, year-end tax work, and process improvements. Strong Excel skills and familiarity with NetSuite/Intacct/QuickBooks are preferred; CPA is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA preferred
• 3-5 years (Staff Accountant) or 5-8 years (Sr Accountant) in accounting or auditing; public accounting preferred
• Team player with a positive attitude toward contributing and learning
• Thorough knowledge of financial statement preparation, GAAP, and revenue recognition
• Strong verbal/written communication skills
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
• Self starter, quick learner, and ability to multitask regularly
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and deadline-driven
• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting function including reconciliations, journal entries, AR, AP, and billing
• Analyze company expenditures and allocate expenses to departments
• Review transactions for GAAP compliance and company policies
• Analyze billing transactions and revenue recognition allocations
• Post monthly, quarterly, and yearly accruals to general ledger
• Assist in building financial statements and budget variance analysis
• Assist in designing and preparing budgets for management review
• Prepare year-end schedules for tax returns
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes
