Job summary

BenchPrep is seeking a Staff/Senior Accountant to join our remote accounting team. You will maintain accurate financial records, prepare reports, analyze data, and ensure GAAP compliance across AR, AP, Billing, and the General Ledger, while supporting budgeting and audits.

Ideal candidates have a BS in accounting, 3–5 years for Staff or 5–8 years for Senior, CPA preferred, and strong Excel. Experience with NetSuite, Intacct or QuickBooks is highly valued, along with proactive collaboration in a

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA preferred.
• 3–5 years (Staff Accountant) or 5–8 years (Sr Accountant) in accounting or auditing; public accounting experience preferred.
• Thorough knowledge and experience in financial statement prep, GAAP, and revenue recognition.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting function including reconciliations, journal entries, AR, AP, and Billing.
• Analyze expenditures and allocate costs to departments with reporting as needed.
• Review transactions for GAAP compliance and company policies.
• Analyze billing transactions to ensure proper revenue recognition.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly/year-end entries and accruals for the general ledger.
• Assist in building financial statements and budgeting variance analysis.
