Job summary

NANA Regional Corporation is seeking a Remote Security Officer for remote camp assignments on the North Slope, AK. You will monitor and secure facilities, control access, and respond to emergencies while adhering to rigorous safety and licensing requirements.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma, 3+ years security experience, valid driver’s license, and are able to obtain Alaska Guard and Armed Guard licenses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least three (3) years of full-time professional security, law enforcement or military experience.
• Post-secondary education in a related field may substitute for experience.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License and three-year driving history.
• Must be able to obtain Alaska Guard License fee of $97 prior to starting.
• Must obtain State of Alaska Armed Guard License on hire.
• Eligible for certifications such as TWIC, ATF Explosive Possessor card, etc.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and contract-specific software.
• Must pass pre-employment requirements including background check, drug test, physical and fit-for-duty assessment, and hearing test.
• Must be able to live in dormitory-style settings and work as part of a team.
• Must be able to make quick decisions with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work a 2 week on / 2 week off rotational schedule.
• Must stand/walk for 12 hours per shift.
• Contract requires English proficiency (speak, read, write).
• Must be safety oriented and follow all guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Personally monitors and patrols buildings and grounds.
• Allow only authorized individuals on property.
• Inspect doors, windows, gates for security.
• Record data on incidents and property damage.
• Warn violators and take action as needed.
• Notify on-site personnel of visitors.
• Respond to emergencies to protect life and property.
• Operate camp billeting and access control systems; maintain visitor lists.
• Check safety systems (heating, lighting, security, etc.) as needed.
• Provide basic emergency medical intervention (CPR, AED).
• Support department goals with additional duties as assigned.
• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
