Job summary

Denali Universal Services seeks a Security Officer for a remote North Slope camp in Alaska. 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off with 12-hour shifts. Lodging, meals, and transportation from Anchorage to site are provided. The role requires a strong security background and operations knowledge, including access control and incident reporting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
• Experience in security, military, law enforcement, or related field.
• Alaska armed guard license or ability to obtain.
• ETT certification or ability to obtain.
• English language proficiency in speaking, reading, writing.
• Smartphone access for scheduling, timekeeping, and communications.
• Background check, drug screen, and post-offer fitness evaluation required.

Responsibilities

• Guard property against damage, fire, theft, and unauthorized entry.
• Display courteous, professional interactions with the public.
• Conduct regular and random patrols by foot or vehicle.
• May perform searches of people, vehicles, and areas.
• Control site ingress/egress: verify IDs and admit visitors.
• Monitor alarm and access control systems.
• Operate IP phones and radios; communicate during emergencies.
• Maintain records and write reports promptly.
• Coordinate with outside agencies as needed.
• Handle security issues under stress and escalate as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of field security operations.
• Comply with dress code and safety trainings.
• Participate in safety meetings and hazard assessments.
