Job summary

NMS is seeking a Remote Security Officer to provide on‑site security services across remote client sites in Alaska. The role emphasizes health, safety and property protection with a focus on rapid response and professional conduct.

You will monitor premises, control access, respond to emergencies, perform patrols, operate security systems, and coordinate with on‑site personnel. Candidates must have 3+ years security experience, valid driver license, and be eligible for Alaska Guard Licenses.

Qualifications

• Must have at least three (3) years of full‑time professional security, law enforcement or military experience.
• Proof of COVID‑19 vaccination is required for all employees.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (past 3 years).
• Alaska Guard License must be obtained prior to starting work.
• Alaska Armed Guard License must be obtained upon hire.
• Must pass pre‑employment testing (drug, medical, fitness, hearing).
• Must live in dormitory-style accommodations at remote camp.
• Must speak, understand, read and write English.

Responsibilities

• Personally monitors and patrols assigned buildings, areas, or grounds.
• Permits entry only to properly authorized individuals.
• Patrols premises and checks doors, windows, and gates for security.
• Records incidents and property data.
• Warns violators and may apprehend or remove violators.
• Notifies on‑site staff of visitors; assists in emergencies.
• Responds to emergencies to preserve life and property.
• Operates access control systems and tracks visitors/vehicles.
• Provides transportation using various vehicles as needed.
• Provides CPR/AED and basic medical support as required.
• Ensures compliance with safety standards and regulations.
